Canada’s Perfect Teen 2012 Shirley Brule Creates a Movement Called: “Stand Up For Self-Esteem”

SO Proud of our Canada’s Perfect Teen 2012 (now the reigning North America’s Perfect Teen 2013) Shirley Brule for encouraging growth in self-esteem in young women: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehisRJBOOts

“Stand Up For Self-Esteem” is a movement started by Shirley Brule and her friend Tricia. It recognizes the decline in the self-esteem of young girls today and attempts to put a stop to it.  They hope to show young girls and young women that having a high self esteem is always attainable, and that it brings happiness and success to those who find it.

In order to maximize the effects of our movement, they have created two “sub-movements” targeting two different age groups.

“Love Yourself” is a movement targeting girls in Grades 4-6. It attempts to stop self esteem issues before they begin by helping girls see their potential and focus on their favorite qualities rather then their least favorite. It encourages individuality and uniqueness.

“Find Yourself” targets an older audience; girls in Grades 7-9. Once girls begin to approach adolescence they have already begun to struggle with their self image. “Find Yourself” shows young girls why it is worth it to overcome these struggles and highlights the benefits of a life lived with confidence. It also teaches the importance of morals and standing ones own ground.
